Traian Băsescu, fostul preşedinte al României, a participat la Bălţi, în Republica Moldova, o dezbatere despre eventuala unire a celor două ţări.
Acţiunea lui Băsescu s-a bucurat de un succes uriaş, fostul preşedinte al României fiind aplaudat la scenă deschisă.
Ulterior, acesta a transmis, prin intermediul paginii sale de Facebook, că “împreună cu Anatol Şalaru şi Constantin Codreanu am fost în Republica Moldova, la Bălţi, cel mai mare oraş după Chişinău. În acest oraş, din 1990 şi până acum, alegerile au fost câştigate numai de partide pro-ruse. Dezbaterea pe care am organizat-o a fost legată de Unirea Republicii Moldova cu România. Trebuie să recunosc, entuziasmul celor aflaţi în sală, legat de Unire, a fost extraordinar”.
Reacţia basarabenilor vine la doar câteva zile după ce Igor Dodon, preşedintele pro-rus al Republicii Moldova, anunţa că există tot mai multe solicitări ca Traian Băsescu să fie declarat persona non-grata pe motiv că ar atenta la suveranitatea naţională a Republii Moldova.
