Jean-Claude Juncker, preşedintele Comisiei Europene, a convocat pentru duminică, 25 octombrie, la Bruxelles, un minisummit al țărilor central și est-europene, pentru o nouă analiză asupra situației create de criza migranţilor din Balcanii Occidentali.
Zeci de mii de migranţi – majoritatea sirieni și afgani – care încearcă să ajungă în Germania sunt blocați în țări din Balcanii Occidentali, după ce Ungaria și-a închis granițele cu Serbia și Croația.
România, la apel
Potrivit unei declarații a Comisiei Europene, la summit sunt invitaţi șefii de stat sau de guvern din Austria, Bulgaria, Croația, Germania, Grecia, România, Slovenia, Ungaria (state membre ale Uniunii Europene), Macedonia și Serbia.
“În lumina situației de urgență în țările aflate pe ruta migratorie din Balcanii Occidentali, este nevoie de mai multă cooperare, de consultări mai extinse și de acțiuni operaționale imediate. Obiectivul întâlnirii va fi acela de a conveni concluzii operaționale comune care să poată fi implementate imediat”, se arată în declarația Comisiei Europene.
La reuniunea de pe 25 octombrie, prevăzută să înceapă la ora locală 16:00 (14:00 GMT) și urmată de o cină de lucru, vor mai lua parte Înaltul Comisar al ONU pentru Refugiați, Antonio Guterres, Biroul European de Sprijin pentru Azil și Agenția europeană pentru gestionarea cooperării operaționale la frontierele externe ale UE – Frontex.
Bariere sparte
Nervozitatea migranţilor se acutizează. În această dimineaţă, circa 3.000 dintre cei care așteptau la granița Serbiei cu Croația au forțat barierele la punctul de trecere a frontierei Berkasovo şi au reușit să pătrundă pe teritoriul croat.
Potrivit EFE, deocamdată aglomerarea de refugiați din acel loc a fost degajată, însă alte grupuri sunt așteptate să ajungă acolo. Astfel, sunt posibile noi blocaje dacă autoritățile croate nu le vor permite să treacă imediat granița.
